Ontario resident Jessica Williams has finally found a product that helps with the symptoms associated with her seborrheic dermatitis, a skin condition that affects approximately five percent of the world’s population.

“We have a pool, and I wouldn’t use it very often because my skin would become so uncomfortable when it was moist,” said Williams. “It seems ridiculous that your skin would become itchy when it gets wet, but it does. Williams said she was never sure what might cause her condition to flare up. Was it stress, something she ate, the product she used, the weather? For her, the worst part was that nobody seemed to really understand her condition very well.
“I did go to a dermatologist,” said Williams. “And they were quick to just write a prescription. To me, it almost feels like they don’t care about this type of condition that much, because it can affect your quality of life, but it’s not life threatening.
“The medication was a really thick ointment, which wasn’t great for putting in your hair. And it was listed as having all kinds of terrible side effects. The worst being a higher risk of getting skin cancer and other things. That didn’t seem like it would be a very good trade-off.”
