Ontario resident Jessica Williams has finally found a product that helps with the symptoms associated with her seborrheic dermatitis, a skin condition that affects approximately five percent of the world’s population.

The 40-year-old Williams has battled her skin condition since her early twenties and had tried everything she could find before discovering the DermaKB™ products on a Facebook ad.

“We have a pool, and I wouldn’t use it very often because my skin would become so uncomfortable when it was moist,” said Williams. “It seems ridiculous that your skin would become itchy when it gets wet, but it does. The condition really does impact the little things in your life that you would like to participate in.”
Williams said she was never sure what might cause her condition to flare up. Was it stress, something she ate, the product she used, the weather? For her, the worst part was that nobody seemed to really understand her condition very well.
“I did go to a dermatologist,” said Williams. “And they were quick to just write a prescription. To me, it almost feels like they don’t care about this type of condition that much, because it can affect your quality of life, but it’s not life threatening.
“The medication was a really thick ointment, which wasn’t great for putting in your hair. And it was listed as having all kinds of terrible side effects. The worst being a higher risk of getting skin cancer and other things. That didn’t seem like it would be a very good trade-off.”
Before finding success with DermaKB™ shampoo and detoxifier, Williams said she had bought every product she could find in the dandruff isle at the drugstore, with limited success. Some would work for a little while and then just stop working. She also tried specialized diets without success.
“I’ve tried a million different diets,” said Williams “I’ve tried elimination diets where you’re pretty much not eating anything. No eggs, no dairy, no red meat, and then you slowly add them back in. Nothing worked, just like everything else I tried.”
